Drain Cleaning
Clogged kitchen sinks, slow bathroom drains and backed-up basement floor drains.
Old clay laterals and big trees mean roots will come back. A maintenance schedule clears them before they cause a backup, and costs a lot less than cleaning up a flooded basement. Our Evanston office is on Orrington Avenue, downtown.

It makes sense if:
They'll return.
Parkway or backyard.
A backup costs more.
Clay from the early 1900s.
A starting point we adjust after the camera:
| Your Line | Suggested Schedule |
|---|---|
| Clay with a root history | Rod or jet yearly |
| Cast iron with scale | Jet every 1 to 2 years |
| No problems so far | Camera check every few years |
| Recently lined | Camera check after a few years |
The entire city is served by combined sewers, which carry storm water and wastewater in the same pipe.
A partly blocked lateral backs up faster when the main is full.
The city added relief capacity from 1991 to 2008. Your lateral is still yours to keep clear.
Before roots grow and spring storms arrive.
We test backflow valves and overhead sewer systems on the same visit.
A maintenance visit is built around prevention, not repair. Here's where the line falls:
| Included in a Maintenance Visit | Needs a Different Service |
|---|---|
| A camera inspection to check your line's current condition | An active sewage backup. Likely fix: Emergency Plumbing |
| Catching early root growth or wear before it becomes a bigger problem | A cracked or collapsed pipe. Likely fix: Sewer Repair |
| A light interior clean as part of the visit | A heavy clog that needs full clearing. Likely fix: Sewer Rodding or Hydro Jetting |
| An honest assessment of what your line needs next | A line at the end of its lifespan. Likely fix: Trenchless Sewer Repair |
If your line needs more than a checkup, we'll tell you exactly what and why. No surprise upsells.
Based on footage, not guesswork.

Yearly if roots are a problem.
If you've had root clogs, yearly. If not, a camera check every few years is enough.
It helps. Protection devices do more.
A clear line drains better. When the combined sewer is full, a backflow valve or overhead sewer is what keeps water out.
Jetting lasts longer on grease and fine roots.
Rodding is fine for routine root cutting. Jetting cleans the walls and usually lasts longer.
