Drain Cleaning
Slow, gurgling or backed-up drains in kitchens, bathrooms and basements.
Columbus treatment includes a softening step, but the water is still moderately hard to hard. If you want better taste, less scale or filtered water at the kitchen sink, we test first and recommend only what your water actually needs.

What you need depends on what you want to change:
Filters every tap for chlorine taste and odor, plus grit from older pipes.
Takes out the hardness minerals that remain after city treatment, for homes that want fewer spots and less scale.
Filtered drinking and cooking water. Also an option for households watching sodium.
Protects fixtures and appliances from rust and grit, especially in homes with older galvanized lines.
We test before we recommend anything. Columbus water comes from three plants, and its hardness and sodium vary by plant. A test at your tap tells you what's actually there, so you don't pay for a system you don't need.
It's also worth testing when something changes: a new taste or smell, rusty water from one tap, white crust building faster than usual or a water heater that failed young. The result tells you whether filtration, a softener or neither makes sense.
The City of Columbus treats water at three plants: Dublin Road and Hap Cremean on surface water, Parsons Avenue on wells. Its treatment includes a softening step. Even so, the water reaching your home is moderately hard to hard.
In 2025, average hardness was 98 mg/L from Hap Cremean, 123 from Parsons Avenue and 125 from Dublin Road. That's about 6 to 7 grains per gallon. Some homeowners are fine with it. Others want a softener for less scale.
Average sodium ranged from about 19 to 87 mg/L depending on the plant. If someone in your home watches sodium, a reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink is worth discussing with your doctor and with us.
In homes built before 1960, galvanized lines can shed rust and grit. A sediment filter helps, but the long-term fix may be the pipe. See leak repairs.
Water treatment should start with your water, not a sales pitch.
We test at your tap and show you the results before recommending anything.
If your water doesn't need a system, we'll tell you. If it does, we explain each option and its upkeep.

"Edgar's the man. Not only did he install my water heater, but asked to test the quality of the water to see if that could've lead to the damage and the leak of my last water heater. My water was at a 7 on the hardness scale, and it's supposed to be at 2 or 3. So he reccomends a new water softener, and im thankful that he did. [...]"
"Ron was perfect. He came to do the job at hand and explained various pieces of information along the way that helped me understand the root causes of what we were dealing with and how to avoid problems in the future. [...] Didn't try and push the sale like some companies do, but was more or less educating on what the options were and what they entailed in full so we would know what to expect if we decided to go down those paths."
Not always. The city softens partly at the plant. It depends on your plant and your preference.
Not always. The city's treatment includes a softening step, and 2025 hardness averaged 98 to 125 mg/L depending on the plant. Some homeowners add a softener for fewer spots and longer-lasting fixtures. A test at your tap gives you the number so you can decide.
The city treats and tests it and publishes results every year. Filters are mostly about taste and home plumbing.
The City of Columbus treats and tests its water and publishes the results every year. Most filtration we install is about taste, scale or a home's own older pipes, not the city supply itself.
White spots, crust on faucets and a rumbling water heater are common signs. A test gives the number.
Look for white spots on glasses, crust on faucets and showerheads, soap that won't lather well and a water heater that rumbles. A water test gives you the actual number.
It depends on the system and install. You get a flat price first.
