Drain Cleaning
Slow, gurgling or backed-up drains in kitchens, bathrooms and basements.
If your floor drain backs up every big storm, an overhead sewer system lifts basement wastewater above the level where backups happen. We install them for Tinley Park homes from our office on 185th Street.

Here's how to tell the connection, not a clog, is the problem:
It comes up during the rain and drains away after. It's the classic early sign.
No roots, no sag, no crack on camera, and it still backs up in heavy rain.
One cleanup of carpet and drywall is enough to look for a permanent fix.
Your upstairs drains already flow out above the level where the sewer can back up. An overhead system does the same for the basement. The floor drain, basement toilet, shower and laundry are rerouted into a sealed pit. An ejector pump lifts that wastewater up to a new line near the ceiling, and a check valve stops it from flowing back. From there, gravity carries it out to the sewer.
Tinley Park has been included in federal flood disaster declarations in 1986, 1987, 1993, 2013 and 2023. Homes that back up in those storms tend to do it again.
If your basement is finished, with a bedroom, family room or bathroom, that's a lot to lose to one storm.
If your basement already has an ejector pump for a bathroom, a conversion builds on what's there.
We camera the sewer line before recommending a conversion. If a sag or a root mat is the real cause, a repair may be all you need.
Three different tools for three different kinds of water:
| Sump Pump | Backflow Valve | Overhead Sewer System | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stops | Groundwater coming in at the walls and slab | Sewage flowing backward into the house | Storm backups through basement drains |
| How | Pumps water from a pit to the outside | A flap closes when flow reverses | Lifts basement wastewater above flood level with an ejector pump |
| Good fit when | Walls or floor get wet after rain | The house sits high enough for a passive valve | Backups keep happening, or the basement is finished |
Some basements need more than one. We'll tell you which yours needs after we look.
We start every overhead sewer project with your basement and your sewer line.
So you don't pay for a conversion when the problem is a clog or a sag.
Pit location, pump and new piping planned around your finished basement.

Sometimes. It depends on its size and the pump. We'll check during the assessment.
Sometimes. If your basement bathroom already drains to an ejector pit, we may be able to use it, depending on its size and the pump. We'll check during the assessment and tell you.
