Sewer Repair
Tree roots, cracked clay pipe and repeat backups in the line from your house to the street.
Water seeping in along the walls, rising through the floor drain or pouring from a failed sump pump. Each one needs a different fix. We find the source, stop it and give you a flat price before any work. Our headquarters is on Techny Road in Northbrook, and our line is open 24/7.

Where the water shows up tells us most of what we need to know:
Water or sewage rising from the floor drain is a sewer-side problem: a blocked line, a damaged pipe or a system that's overloaded in a storm.
Water at the joint where the wall meets the floor is groundwater pushing in. That's a sump and waterproofing problem.
A pit that overflows means the pump failed, lost power or can't keep up.
Water from above is a plumbing leak, often a supply line or a burst pipe. Shut off the main.
Northbrook has a long record of storm flooding: widespread flooding in September 2008, two serious storms in 2013, and in 2018, flooded underpasses on Willow and Shermer and the Middle Fork of the Chicago River over its banks at Lake Cook Road.
When heavy rain falls on frozen or saturated soil, water runs off instead of soaking in. Sump pits fill fast, and sewers fill even faster.
About a third of Northbrook homes were built between 1940 and 1969, many before backflow protection and battery backups were common. If yours has never been upgraded, it's worth a look.
Groundwater calls for a sump pump and drainage. Sewer backups call for clearing the line, a backflow valve or an overhead sewer system. We tell you which you have before you spend anything.
Waterproofing is the right fix when groundwater is pushing through the foundation, not backing up through a drain. The signs are damp or stained walls, water along the joint where the wall meets the floor, white chalky deposits on concrete and puddles that show up after rain without any drain backing up.
Interior drainage and a sump pump work as a team: the drain tile collects the water, and the pump sends it outside, away from the house. Before recommending anything, we confirm the water is coming through the foundation and not from a leak or a sewer backup, so you don't pay to fix the wrong problem.
Every technician is licensed in Illinois and equipped to handle any basement flooding issue safely.
A flooded basement doesn't wait for business hours. Neither do we.
Your technician will walk you through what they found, explain every option and give you a flat rate before any work starts.
Groundwater, sewer backup and plumbing leaks need different fixes. We diagnose first, so you're not paying for the wrong one.

"Welhem and Josh have been so kind with my flooded crawl space and sump pump replacement process. It’s my first time owning a home and while these things can be stressful, they have been wonderful about getting things resolved as quickly as possible."
"I had water backing up in the basement on a Sunday. I called them and he came an hour later. John figured out the problem quickly-ejector pump, and what to do if it happens again. I did get an estimate for a new one if it needs replacing."
"Andrew A and Andrew M were remarkable!!!! We were in such a panic - just moving into our new home that day and they were professional and so knowledgeable! They are amazing!!!"
A licensed plumber first, to stop the source. Cleanup and restoration come after.
Call a licensed plumber first. A water damage company handles cleanup and restoration, but if water is still entering your basement, the source needs to be stopped before any cleanup is effective. We identify what's causing it and make the fix. Once the water is stopped, restoration can begin.
Big storms overload the system or overwhelm the sump. The cause decides the fix.
In a normal rain, your sump pump and sewer line keep up. In a big storm, groundwater rises faster than an older pump can move it, or the sewer fills and pushes water back through the floor drain. We'll find out which one happened in your basement and fix that.
Only for groundwater. Sewer backups need a different fix.
Only if your problem is groundwater. A sump pump won't stop sewage from backing up through a floor drain. If water is coming up through a drain, look at a backflow valve or an overhead sewer system instead.
Often not for groundwater or sewer backup. Check your policy. We document the cause for your claim.
Standard homeowners insurance typically does not cover flooding caused by groundwater, sewer backup or heavy rain. Those events usually require separate flood insurance or a sewer backup rider. If the flooding is caused by a sudden plumbing failure, like a burst pipe, your standard policy may cover it. Check your policy or contact your insurer to confirm. Our technician will document the cause, which may support your claim.
It depends on the cause and the fix. You get a flat-rate price before any work starts.
The cost depends on what's causing the flooding and what fix is required. A sump pump replacement is a different scope than an overhead sewer installation or waterproofing. We provide a flat-rate price before any work starts. Give us a call.
