Sewer Repair
Tree roots, cracked pipe and repeat backups in the line from your house to the street.
A shower that drips, a handle that's stiff or water that goes cold when someone runs the dishwasher. We repair shower valves, cartridges, heads and drains, with a flat price before we start. From our office on Main Street.

Most start in the valve:
A worn cartridge.
The pressure-balancing valve can't keep up.
A clogged head, or a valve partly closed.
Worn parts inside the valve.
Bathrooms in Naperville's 1980s, 1990s and 2000s homes are reaching the age when original valves wear out.
Most homes here have single-handle pressure-balancing valves. The cartridge inside is the part that fails, and replacing it usually fixes drips and temperature swings.
Larger showers with body sprays or a handheld need more water. If pressure drops, the valve or line size may be the cause.
If a long shower turns cold, the water heater may be undersized. See water heater repair.
Hair and soap build up in shower and tub drains over the years. If water pools around your feet, the drain needs clearing, not the valve. See drain cleaning.
We fix the shower without a remodel.
Cartridge, valve, showerhead or water heater. We check before we quote.

Most repairs happen through the trim opening, and we protect the tub and floor while we work.

Yes. Cartridges come out through the trim opening.
Yes. Cartridges are replaced through the opening behind the handle, so tile stays in place. A full valve replacement sometimes needs more access, and we'll explain first.
A worn pressure-balancing valve.
Usually a pressure-balancing valve or cartridge that's worn out. It can also be a water heater that's too small for the house.
A clogged head, a partly closed valve or a worn cartridge.
Start with the showerhead. If that's clean and pressure is still low, it may be the cartridge or a valve that isn't fully open.
It depends on the valve and parts. You get a flat price first.
It depends on the valve, the parts and access. We give you a flat-rate price before any work begins.
