Water Heaters
Repair and replacement for tank and tankless water heaters that leak, make noise or run out of hot water too fast.
Hot water that keeps going and a heater that hangs on the wall instead of filling a corner of the basement. We install, repair and service tankless water heaters across Geneva and tell you honestly if your home is a good fit. From our office on Campbell Street.

A tankless water heater fires only when you open a hot tap. Water passes through a heat exchanger, gets heated on the spot and goes straight to the fixture. With no stored tank, there's no standby heat loss and no running out. The limit is flow: a unit heats a set number of gallons per minute, so it's sized to how many fixtures you run at once.
Each has its place:
| Tank Water Heater | Tankless Water Heater | |
|---|---|---|
| Hot water supply | Limited to the tank | Continuous, limited by flow |
| Space | Floor space | Wall-mounted, good for tight basements |
| Expected life | About 8 to 12 years | Often longer with maintenance |
| Install work | Usually a direct swap | May need gas line and vent changes |
| Upkeep | Yearly flush | Periodic descaling |
A few things decide whether tankless makes sense in your house.
A wall-mounted unit frees up floor space in a tight older basement.
Tankless units vent through a wall or roof with their own pipe. In older homes with thick masonry walls, we plan the route carefully.
Tankless units need a lot of gas when they fire. We check your line before quoting.
Geneva's water has been softened by reverse osmosis since 2008, which is easier on a heat exchanger. Maintenance still matters.

"Alex came out to provide a quote for a tankless water heater I wanted installed. He explained everything in so much detail, about the electric upgrade I would need, about how the heater will actually work 'in real life' (not just on paper). Then it turned out my electric couldn't support the tankless. [...]"
"We had our water heater leak and Kyle from J Blanton came and installed a tankless system in only a few hours. It works amazing and he was very fast and thorough. Thanks for the great job Kyle."
"Christian was fantastic l! He’s been here a few times for no drip club visits and he’s the man! Did our tankless water heater maintenance and was friendly and efficient, highly recommend 🙌🏼"
Often, especially where space is tight.
Often. It saves floor space in a tight basement. The main questions are the gas line and the vent path, which we check first.
It helps, but it still needs periodic service.
Geneva's city water is softened by reverse osmosis to about 5 to 7 grains, which is easier on a heat exchanger than very hard water. Periodic descaling and filter cleaning are still recommended.
Usually, if it's sized right.
Usually. A properly sized unit handles a couple of showers and an appliance at once.
Sometimes.
Sometimes. We check the existing line and include any upgrade in the price.
It depends on the unit, gas and venting. You'll approve a flat price first.
It depends on the unit, any gas line work and the venting. You'll approve a flat-rate price before we start.
