The timing tells you a lot. If sewage came up during or right after a heavy storm, the combined sewer in the street likely filled and pushed water back. If it came up on a dry day, the problem is almost always in your lateral: roots, grease or a break. The fix is different. A blocked lateral needs cleaning or repair. Storm backups need a backflow valve or an overhead sewer. Our camera tells us which one you're dealing with.
