Hard Water

Why Faucets Wear Faster With Hard Water

At around 8 grains per gallon, Elmhurst's water leaves mineral deposits in aerators, cartridges and spray heads. Over time, a faucet gets stiff, drips or sprays unevenly. Cleaning the aerator helps. Replacing a worn cartridge fixes most drips. If your fixtures are wearing out often, a softener can protect them along with your water heater and dishwasher.

Pricing

What Affects the Price of Faucet Work

A simple cartridge swap is a short visit. Replacing a faucet takes longer, especially if the old one is corroded in place or the shutoffs need replacing. Kitchen faucets with sprayers, filters or touchless sensors add a few steps. We look at the faucet, the sink and the valves underneath, then give you one flat price.
