Sewer Repair
Root intrusion, cracked pipe and repeat backups in sewer lines that are now 60 to 80 years old.
A shower that drips, scalds when someone flushes or barely sprays. We repair and replace shower valves, including the older two- and three-handle valves common in postwar homes. Our office is on Lincoln Avenue.

Call when:
Worn washers or a cartridge.
No pressure-balancing valve, or a worn one.
A clogged head or old pipe.
A leak at the valve or drain.
Many Skokie bathrooms still have their original shower valves behind the tile.
Older valves use washers and stems that wear. We rebuild them or replace them with a modern valve.
Older valves don't balance pressure, so a flush can make the water spike. A new pressure-balancing valve fixes it.
We work through the smallest opening possible.
We protect the tile when we can.
Through the trim if possible.
Rebuild or replace.
Steady temperature, no drips.

Many Skokie homes still have original tile bathrooms from the 1950s, often in colors that are hard to match. When a valve needs work, we try to do it from behind the wall or through the valve opening, so the tile stays intact. If a valve must be replaced, a trim plate can cover the old holes. You keep the bathroom you like, with a shower that works.
A cartridge or washer replacement is quick. Replacing an original valve behind vintage tile takes more care. Leak testing adds time. We diagnose and quote a flat price.

"GREAT WORK AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!"
"Picture it: you get home from being out of town to relax and take a glorious shower. You’re halfway through the shampoo when your husband comes in yelling saying the water needs to be shut off because it’s all coming up in the basement. Ugh. So you start looking for who to call. The plumber your parents used is out of town for two weeks. [...]"
