Hydro Jetting in Skokie, IL

If your main line needs rodding every few months, the roots and scale are still clinging to the pipe walls. Hydro jetting scours them off. We camera the line first and give you a flat price. Our office is on Lincoln Avenue.

The Basics

What Is Hydro Jetting?

Hydro jetting clears a sewer line with a high-pressure water stream, fed through the same cleanout access point used for rodding. A specialized nozzle sprays water in every direction as it moves through the pipe, scouring grease, scale, and roots off the entire pipe wall instead of just cutting a path through the middle. It's the fix for buildup that keeps coming back after rodding, or for roots that have worked into the pipe joints. Rodding opens the line back up. Hydro jetting cleans it.

When It Makes Sense

When Skokie Lines Need Hydro Jetting

Jetting is worth it for:

Root Mats That Grow Back Fast

It strips root growth off the walls, not just the middle.

Heavily Scaled Cast Iron

It clears scale so old cast iron flows freely again.

Kitchen Lines With Decades of Grease

Postwar kitchen lines often carry 60 years of buildup.

Getting Ready for a Liner

A liner needs a clean pipe to bond to.

Local Knowledge

Why Jetting Works on Skokie Lines

Most Skokie lines are clay or cast iron from the 1940s to the 1960s.

We Check the Pipe First

Old clay can be cracked. The camera tells us what pressure it can take.

Cast Iron Gets Room to Flow

Scale can narrow a 4-inch pipe to a fraction of that.

Fewer Emergency Calls

A thoroughly cleaned line clogs less often than one that's only been rodded.

Cast Iron

Jetting Old Cast Iron Kitchen Lines

In many 1950s Skokie homes, the kitchen drain is cast iron. Over decades, the inside rusts and roughens, and grease sticks to that rough surface. A cable can poke through, but the line closes up again. Jetting removes the grease and loose scale, opening the pipe back up. If the pipe is too thin or cracked, we'll show you on camera and talk about replacement.

Customer Stories

Hydro Jetting Reviews

4.7 stars from 5,669+ Google reviews across all J. Blanton locations.

"We initially called and Edgar came when we had flooding in our basement, and throughout multiple days of different issues being found, he talked us through each piece, explaining our options, and kept in close communication about the progress and everything that had come up. He helped clear our drain, then fixed some piping in the basement, put a liner in our pipes, and installed a sump pump, staying late to ensure we had working plumbing."
