Water Heaters
Repair and replacement for tank and tankless water heaters that leak, make noise or run out of hot water too fast.
A gas smell near the water heater, a line the utility red-tagged or an old connector behind the dryer. Our licensed plumbers find leaks, repair gas lines and pressure-test them before we leave. From our office on West Elm Street.

Before anything else:
Everyone and every pet, out of the house.
Don't flip switches, use phones inside or start a car in an attached garage.
Nicor Gas or 911, from outside.
Once you're cleared to go back in, we'll find and fix the leak.
Call us when:
Near the furnace, water heater, range or dryer.
Service won't come back until the house piping is repaired and tested.
A generator or tankless heater may be too much for the existing line.
Uncoated brass connectors should be replaced.
If you suspect a leak or the utility shut off service, we find the exact source using electronic detectors and soap tests on the fittings, then pressure-test the system to confirm it's sealed.
Most leaks are at unions, valves and appliance connectors. Once repaired, we test the whole system so service can be restored.
Most McHenry homes were built since 1970, and many have had appliances added along the way.
Grills, garage heaters and dryers added later aren't always connected or sized right. We check how they were done.
Detached garages and workshops sometimes get gas through a buried line. Those can leak out of sight.
Standby generators have become common in areas that lose power in storms. They draw a lot of gas, so the line has to be sized for it.
Gas work done right, then tested.
Gas line work should be done by a licensed pro. Ours are licensed and trained for it.
A flat price once we find the problem.
Before the gas comes back on.

"Communication, information and installation went great. Price was very competitive. Shane explained everything extremely well and Alex installed hot water tank beautifully. Shortly after Alex left a gas leak from an old valve on the piping to the tank occurred and needed to be replaced, Alex came back same night and fixed it. This is a 5-Star company."
