Catch Basin Cleaning and Repair in McHenry, IL

Standing water in the yard, a flooded driveway or a grate buried in leaves. We clean catch basins, repair damaged ones and clear the pipes they drain into. From our office on West Elm Street.

The Basics

What Does a Catch Basin Do?

A catch basin is an underground box with a grate on top. It collects surface water from your yard, driveway or downspouts and sends it to a storm line or drainage outlet. The bottom of the box sits below the outlet pipe, so sediment and leaves settle out before the water leaves. When that sump fills, the outlet clogs and the water stays on the surface.

Know the Signs

Signs Your Catch Basin Needs Service

Call when you see:

Water That Won't Go Down

Puddles around the grate long after the rain stops.

A Covered Grate

Leaves, mulch and grass clippings block water from getting in.

Ground Sinking Near the Basin

Soil washing into a crack in the basin wall.

Water Heading for the House

When the basin can't take it, water follows the slope.

Local Knowledge

Catch Basins in McHenry Yards

In McHenry, wet ground makes surface drainage more important.

Saturated Ground in Wet Seasons

Near the Fox River and the lakes, the soil can stay saturated for weeks. A blocked basin leaves water with nowhere to go.

Low Lots in Newer Subdivisions

Many subdivisions use yard and driveway basins to move water off flat or low lots.

Sand and Grit From Winter

Road salt, sand and grit wash into driveway basins every spring.

Part of a Dry Basement Plan

A working basin keeps surface water away from the foundation and takes load off your sump pump.

"Unbelievable service and knowledge! Took the time to break down the issue and explain in a way where I felt comfortable moving forward. The work was done with no issues and they even filled me in on some work that would be needed in the future. All of this, and I only called to schedule two days before!"
